Celeste MacKenzie, member of Unit 60 for many years, was mentioned in an article in today's Times-Colonist. Celeste will be remembered in the Unit for her enthusiasm, the excellent training on hypothermia she provided to our members, and many other contributions.
Celeste joined Unit 60 in October 2018 and completed the Crew Course in May 2019. During her active time with Unit 60 she went out on 12 SAR missions. She is currently inactive due to her commitments as a lighthouse keeper on Ivory Island, about 20 nautical miles northwest of Bella Bella.

A nice glimpse into part of a station keepers life. Having to be dependent on one’s selves for so many things is not for faint of heart. Certainly is not a job, as such, but more of a way of life to be drawn to. Congratulations to Celeste for following her path and to continue in her service to mariners.
